Comments of the Registries Stakeholder Group on the IP Clearinghouse
On behalf of the Registries Stakeholder Group (RySG), attached please find the comments of the RySG on one element of the Proposed Rights Protection Mechanisms for new gTLDs, the IP Clearinghouse, proposed by ICANN in the latest version of the Draft Applicant Guidebook Version 3. These comments respond to the questions raised on this subject by the letter sent by the ICANN Board to the GNSO Council regarding the proposed Clearinghouse and URS process. These comments should not be construed as acceptance or agreement with the other elements of the Proposed Rights Protection Mechanisms, and the RySG may file additional comments on those elements. These comments are supported by a majority of the members of the RySG.Votes regarding the comments are still being recorded, and the RySG will amend the Statement of Support to reflect these votes when they are received.
