I am particularly concerned with criminal fraud on the internet - http://www.bobbear.net/index.asp

Whilst there are many responsible and ethical registrars who have a comprehensive Acceptable Use Policy in place as part of their registration agreement & enforce its provisions, there are many others that do not.

The unethical registrars either do not have an effective AUP in place or ignore abuse reports relating to breaches of its provisions, even in reported cases of serious criminal fraud activity. At the moment it is often difficult or even impossible to get some registrars to IMMEDIATELY suspend registrations even in the most blatant cases of criminal fraud, (such as money laundering activity), involving the domain.

I would like to see an agreed common approach to a standardised AUP being mandatory as part of the accreditation agreement with sanctions available for those registrars that do not enforce the AUP, along with an agreed abuse reporting address, (non spam filtered), auto-response procedure & guaranteed response times.

Regards,

Bob Harrison
