I object to the current proposed registry pricing models.
I believe the registry prices should be capped at 5% per year for the next
10 years.
Further, I believe there should be no different pricing for different domain
name. such a scheme would allow registries to confiscate valuable domain
name and hold them "hostage" for extortion payments. This situation is
already occurring with the current policies. At least one registrar has
been accused numerous times by numerous different parties of initiating
incorrect credit card charges. Once the charges are disputed the registrar
then uses to the dispute to lock all their domains and demand a large
payments. In these cases ICANN claims no responsibility or authority even
though ICANN sets the policies that allows such activities to take place.
