Re. Settlement

Just found out about this issue and proposed
settlement today. After reading through the
information, it appears to be a very onesided
settlement that hands over the keys to the henhouse to
the fox.

I see no way this will be of benefit to the "consumer"
in either the short run or the long run, and believe
it will only serve to create another monopoly whose
sole goal is revenue and all else be damned.

Based on my current understanding of the issues, I
can't comprehend the reason that ICANN is even
considering a settlement. I'm going to continue to
seek out additional information as I must be missing
something...
