We all know what happens when monopolies gain control, like what
happened with Network Solutions (now VeriSign) when domain names were
first being assigned. Theyl made millions of dollars untill it was
opened up to other registrars for domain registration. We need the free
market decide how much domains will cost, and the only way for that to
happen is to have competition in the marketplace. This new agreement
will give VeriSign more control over the costs of domains, and put a ton
more money in their pockets in the process.

If one organization has to maintain the DNS servers globally, it should
be a non-profit that can operate efficiently, or put it out for bids.

This is a bad move for ICANN.
