Dear John:The At-Large staff has the honour to transmit to you the Statement of the ALAC on the Terms of Reference of the Root Server Scaling Study on behalf of the At-Large Advisory Committee.
The Statement was drafted by Patrick Vande Walle, co-chair of the DNS Security Working Group of At-Large, as a reply to the public consultation on the same subject. No amendments to the draft were proposed during that time though several supporting statements were made.
The ALAC vote on the statement ended on 30th July, and resulted in adoption of the statement 11-0-0. The results of the vote may be independently verified at https://www.bigpulse.com/pollresults?code=ZN7MrKqI3eCrm4MrvhHd.
As this is a formal Statement of an Advisory Committee to the Board, we provide it by copy hereby to the Secretary of ICANN for distribution to the Board with our compliments. The ALAC welcomes any comments the Board may wish to make by reply.
