It looks like GAC is proposing a return to the "Dark Ages".
It is disappointing to see some governments' lack of commitment to
freedom of expression values. The GAC letter shows how ripe for
abuse this MoPo objection policy is and how it will put ICANN in the
middle of all sorts of political, religious, etc. disputes that ICANN
would be wise to stay out of.
