Dear Working Group Members:

I am writing to request a consultation between the Recommendation 6 Working Group and ICANN staff members to discuss the Working Group proposals and the our analyses of them to date.

Given our understanding of the Working Group document, ICANN staff made certain recommendations to the Board during its 28 October meeting that: certain working group recommendation could be immediately included in the new gTLD Applicant Guidebook in some manner; and that certain portions of the report should not be included in the Guidebook, at least until better understanding was achieved or changes discussed.

The materials sent to the Board for their 28 October meeting made it clear that additional meetings / consultations between ICANN staff members and the Working Group might serve to include more Working Group recommendations in the implementation of the new gTLD policy. The Board then asked if that consultation could be conducted before the meeting in Cartagena (rather than waiting to have the consultation at the meeting).

Anticipating that this is agreeable, we can create an agenda and also send the information provided to the Board for their discussion on the Recommendation 6 topic. I hope we could set the meeting up in the very near future and we will send out a poll to find the best meeting time.

Thanks in advance for considering this suggestion. I am looking forward to your responses to the poll to indicate whether there is support for having the meeting.

Best regards,

Kurt
