Hello
Few things come to my mind:
1. Publication of Milestone Report on ICANN’s website
a. When the Milestone report is sent to the board, do you want to post it
for public comment as well?
Yes.
I think that we need approval from our chartering organization for public
comments , that is my understanding, can you Carlton please check the alac
motion on that matter? I included that in gnso motion
KV: will wait for you to tell me when it is ok to post.
b. If yes, do you want help with an announcement or will the WG do it? If
you want me to do the announcement, what is the messaging?
Help required. We will consult re messaging but to my mind a two line
introduction is all that is needed.
we can do announcement like last time but with update to highlight the new
additions and parts of the second milestone report and reminding the first
version and telling people that there will be final report to be expected
KV: will wait for you to tell me when it is ok to post. I can draft something
for the WG review.
c. Do you want the Milestone Report translated into the 5 additional UN
languages like we did previously?
Yes.
+1 , we are recommending that for applicants :)
KV: I am sending the Report to translations today.
2. ICANN Singapore
a. Do you plan on holding any public session in Singapore? If yes, when,
for how long and what is the topic and structure. The meetings team is working
on the schedule now and we would need to reserve a slot ASAP.
Yes. "Framework for Supporting Applications for new gTLDs" would be my
suggestion. 1.5 hours should do.
+1 for format we should check what we did in Brussels and Carthagena, seeing
how we can improve that experience and outreach people (providers o applicants)
KV: I made the request to the Meetings team based on today’s discussions.
b. If you do not plan on a public session, do you want to have a WG
meeting like in San Francisco. If yes, let me know when and for how long so I
can reserve a room for us.
yes for WG meeting, 1h30 is enough I guess
KV: I will book us a meeting room as soon as you tell me what day and time?
3. Other
a. I assume that, after the chartering organizations review of the
report, you will send it directly to the board and do not need my help. Please
let me know if this assumption is correct.
We will need staff support.
according to our charter, it is our chartering organizations which will handle
that , ALAC should send the corrected and approved report soon to the board .
KV: No action from me at this time, as I understand it.
b. Does the JAS WG plan on continuing any work after Singapore?
I don't know. We will ask the question of the WG.
it is up to our chartering organizations, if we are asking for new tasks then
we needed extended charter, if we just responding to comments and continuing on
existing tasks we can continue and informing gnso and alac about that except
decision from them disbanding the WG.
but I do think that we need to do our work till Singapore assuming that new
gTLD will be launched there
KV: No action from me at this time, as I understand it.
@Carlton we need to prepare agenda for tuesday call, maybe having as item :
response to comments from at-large and gnso council. we have some questions, I
will share them with WG for consultation another item; message to carry for
GNSO council
we need to prepare presentation for GNSO council update. we will have 20minutes
for that and motion discussion. so it should be short
Regards
Rafik
