I think the ".cat "sTLD proposal is either
- a backdoor to skip using the existing ccTLD
".es" for the Catalonia Autonomous Territory within Spain, where Catalonia is
legally included as of today; else
- an ill-addressed way to identify
a cultural community; would it make sense to set up an sTLD for each
existing language around the world? There must be many other ways (more sound
ways) to cope with cultural identities.
