It is unclear from reading the .Mobi proposal which companies will be controlling it.
Will the founders (Microsoft, Nokia and Vodafone) own the majority of the Board seats?
Will all the participants in Mobi JV have the same rights and share percentages?
How can the GSMA, which is a not-for-profit association, be a shareholder in Mobi JV,
which is a for-profit venture?!
Given the overwhelming power that Microsoft, Nokia and Vodafone excercize in the
industry, it is only fair that they should make public the relevant shareholding
documents so that the community understands who is really controlling Mobi JV.
If the founders (Microsoft, Nokia and Vodafone) have a de facto control over Mobi JV
and the other participants are there for cosmetic purposes, this should be very
alarming to us all.
