To whom it may concern.
I am an adult webmaster in the adult online entertainment community. I am
strongly opposed to this idea of restricting adult sites to a .XXX TLD.
In my opinion, this will do apsolutely nothing to stop children from accessing
pornography or anything else that is unsuitable for children to view.
Those who believe that segregating an industry to a single TLD will work is
simply outdated in their thinking. They are overlooking filesharing,
peer-to-peer networks
and usenet; all decentralised and unprosecutable. They have also overlooke the
fact that a large percent of adult sites are owned by non US entities.
Children who are unsupervised while using a computer and want to find porn will
continue, wether or not this proposed TLD is passed.
This will only make lawyers and registrars wealthy and fill the courts with
more time wasting domain and copyright disputes.
