Please do NOT create an xxx domain

I'm writing to beg you to NOT create an xxx domain.  
 
Even with the most stringent protection, an xxx domain will NOT prevent
tech-savvy teens from circumventing controls and getting to extremely
pornographic sites. And, the level of obscenity AT such a domain will
likely intensify.  It will be a "no-holds-barred" pornographic
environment.  Free speech does NOT cover that patently obscene
materials, which the legal system has wisely said fall OUTSIDE of free
speech protection.
 
Even more worrisome, though, is that pornographers will NOT be REQUIRED
to register with the xxx domain.  It will be up to them if they CHOOSE
to identify themselves with the xxx domain.  This means they will STILL
be able to operate as they have. 
 
We should be trying to make civilization MORE civilized rather than
encouraging its descent into oblivion.
