oppose .xxx for good reasons
Dear ICANN, Please let me address the issue of creating an .xxx domain Providing a legal domain for obscenity will only exacerbate our problem. It was the same with abortion back in the 60's and early 70's. The argument back then was to save people from the harm of illegal and botched abortions, and to make abortion safe and rare. However, we should have known that human nature would only take advantage of something meant to be "safe and rare" and run with it. Now, we are regretting it. I believe that we just need to enforce the obscenity laws that already exist and encourage the government to create stricter ones as necessary rather than permitting what we know is harmful to society.
