Hi,

I run several adult web sites and am concerned about the introduction of
.xxx

All this will achieve is two things.

1) A massive gold rush of registration for .xxx domains, thus benefiting the
registry and the lawyers fighting for companies arguing over rights to names

and

2) Enable blanket censorship at the ISP level of some adult sites (those
that adopt .xxx if passed)

Neither of these outcomes serves to protect children from viewing
pornography, as in countries such as the eastern european ones porn will
still be available on other GTLDS en mass. Maybe the children wont see any
porn from US companies - but all that does is hurt the US industry.

.XXX is a flawed idea one that I am sure is being proposed for the financial
gain of the registries concerned first and foremost.

A better solution would be to create a domain such as .kids that would be an
optional domain for children's sites so that parents could then set up their
browsers only to allow access to .kids sites.

It is much easier to have a system that restricts all but .kids than it is
to just block .xxx Even if the parents successfully block .xxx sites there
are still millions of sites that children shouldn't view on other GTLDs not
just porn (rotten.com for example)

I hope you consider the points raised when coming to a decision on the
matter.

Yours in registering a firm "against" vote.
