To whom it may concern:
I was glad to hear of your decision to not go with the proposed domain. All
too often, people don't think of all the ramifications and end up doing more
harm than good. In my opinion, having the domain would draw even more kids to
pornographic sites due to the attention the domain would muster.
As far as these religious groups this needs to stop immediately. I am so
tired of these people trying to influence what I do in the privacy of my own
house. If they want to be holier than though that's fine. It's their right to
do so and I don't have a problem with that. However, when they try to MAKE me
religious that really concerns and upsets me. Freedom means have the
capability to differ on opinions/issues and I don't want anyone attempting to
deprive me of that. There is a reason there is a separation of church and
state. I want to drink, gamble and watch porn: PERIOD.
I'm not saying that porn and the Internet is problem free, because it's not.
However, I am saying that that porn needs to stop being the scapegoat for all
of the sexual ills of society. It's a multi-billion dollar business and we
would be fool hearted to believe that only the bottom feeders of society are
generating that sort of revenue. Maybe if the catholic priests watched more
porn, they'd be less prone to fondling little boys.
Furthermore, the porn industry pays entirely way too much in taxes (of which
the church pays none) to continue to be harassed. If the church really wants
to be helpful to kids and the community as they claim, they can get the archaic
laws off the books and start to pay taxes like everyone else in this country.
I am sure more than a few school districts could use the help.
Kind regards,
A concerned tax paying citizen!
