Today begins a public comment period for the Inter-Registrar Transfer
Policy which was implemented by ICANN in November, to provide
registrants greater freedom in transferring their domains between
registrars. ICANN staff is required to report to the GNSO Council at
intervals on the overall effectiveness of the policy and identify any
suggested modifications. Comments can be submitted at
http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-12jan05.htm. This
comment period will close on 1 February 2005.
The transfer information page is at http://www.icann.org/transfers. If
you get complaints or questions about transfers, you might also want to
refer people to this page so that they contribute to the current
review. The announcement is at
