Lets face it; we all got burned on .cc, .tv. .to, etc. because we thought that the value system for .com would remain for these as well. However, I am letting most of my .cc's and .to's go back, because I simply will not use them. After all, it will come down to how usefull a domain name is.
The current value system is .com, then .org. After that, people simply do not go deeper into the other alternate domain names; making alternate domain names practically useless.
