I'm talking about unique names, like coca-cola, or flippinfargentnoodle.

Not common names like aim, ford, books, ...

Garry Anderson makes excellent points about the untrademarkability of common names.

But what about made-up terms?

Maybe Garry's idea of an identifier TLD (he says .reg, I say .rtm, .rsm, .tmk, and .smk) for registered (and unregistered) trademarks and servicemarks, is the best or even maybe the ONLY solution?
