Subject: new TLDs means nothing

The basic distinctions between .edu .com .org .net are becoming indistinct: .net can mean .com-infra-net as well as inter-net ....

But the new TLD's are gumdrops melting in KoolAid - momentary refractions and deflections: self-advertisements that don't mean a thing to someone typing/searching for the domain: eg. IBM is IBM whether it's their .com or their .net or their .biz ....

I prefer distinct domain-name registration, and the hosts and TLDs are whatever the owner chooses (legally) to do ... otherwise you'll go to the patent list and decide that IBM.selectric is not IBM.PC .... But should be IBM's decision to get school accreditation.
