The basic distinctions between .edu .com .org .net are becoming indistinct: .net
can mean .com-infra-net as well as inter-net ....But the new TLD's are gumdrops
melting in KoolAid ® - momentary refractions and deflections: self-advertisements
that don't mean a thing to someone typing/searching for the domain: eg. IBM ® is
IBM ® whether it's their .com or their .net or their .biz ....
I prefer distinct
domain-name registration, and the hosts and TLDs are whatever the owner chooses (legally)
to do ... otherwise you'll go to the patent list and decide that IBM.selectric ®
is not IBM.PC ® .... But IBM.edu ® should be IBM's ® decision to get school accreditation.
