Registration companies are driven by profit motive.

They would sell SEX dot KIDS if they could get away with it.

I have better solution - that gives kids much greater Internet experience.

The following is cut and paste from my WIPO site - it is written for the novice to understand. Sorry to all here:

The following is logical common sense. First a couple of things you need to know:

There is not the political will to protect your children. The truth is obvious; authorities care more about trademarks than they do your kids. They wish to let the Internet get out of control, allowing them to take draconian measures. So permitting them to monitor everything you do on the Internet, which most communications will be in a decade. Don't let them turn the Internet into some sort of kiddies library. Perverts and terrorists will find a way around any measures. Direct connected encryption or even blinking sending child porn CDs over postal service. Children can be protected.

You will see below, they could be doing something. They have had nearly ten years to sort things out. There is a simple answer, though THEY WILL try to complicate matters. Do not believe them, there is answer to ALL problems they raise.

The Simple Answer

When you type a name into the address bar (i.e. www.YAHOO.COM), it is checked against a database of names to find out where to go - called the IP address.

Although following can be done by single government, it is best for International co-operation. What should be done, is to arrange separate database of names and addresses. IMMEDIATE implementation, fine tuning to be done AFTER joint consultation. They will wish to delay, to sort out details. Remember this is for children - suggest take out porn, racial and dangerous (bomb making etc.) sites. Maintained by separate independent organization, funded by participating governments. This would give a central contact for people and keep costs down (should be minimal). This can be done, at least one NetNanny type company is doing a similar job on its own.

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to have separate phone number for this database. If provided, they are to monitor limited kids newsgroups and chat rooms. Subscribers (parents) then have option for full or restricted service.

Phone companies to have a list of ISPs. You can then obviously block bar the full unrestricted service numbers from being used. Or if you do not, you will know if child subscribes to an uncensored (free?) ISP. If one of these numbers is used - phone bill states, just on top line, "Uncensored Internet used, phone number #####-######"

Simple and logical - do not let them tell you anything different. All above IMHO.
