The very fact that Afilias had
to shut down Whois speaks volumes about the extent of abuse. There is no point
in underplaying this fiasco. If sunrise period is resumed, unscrupulous elements
will do the same thing, only this time they will be more efficient. When we
see something not working, we don't wait till doomsday to change it. We change
it as we go along. It is elementary. Why to defend something that is
indefencible. Whether it is Afilias or ICANN. What difference does it
make? We know sunrise period is not working. Why not try save new extensions
from disaster before it is too late!Amar
