of even most basic validation, they did not care if it was fair, fatally flawed -
or not well designed.
Even a student programmer knows you have to validate data
entry.
IMO - As this benefits them to the *greatest* extent - on the balance of
probability and given the total lack of competence required, the reason could not
be lack of due care.
They had only one consideration - to screw the most profit
from as many people as was possible.
