A GREAT Compromise for new TLD's to avoid collisions. Part 1. Atlantic Root/ICANN
compromise?
Part 2. New Net/ICANN compromise?
Part 3. ICANN should recognize
IOD.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Part
1. Atlantic Root/ICANN compromise?
Fact: ATLANTIC ROOT's BIZ, ETC, NGO, NPO, ONLINE
TLD's in alternate roots.
Proposal: ICANN should put ATLANTIC ROOT's ETC, NGO,
NPO, ONLINE TLD's into the USG's A-root and recognize ATLANTIC ROOT as the sole ETC,
NGO, NPO, ONLINE TLD's Registry. ATLANTIC ROOT should recognize Neulevel as sole
.BIZ registry and transfer all .BIZ records to it. [All registrants' domain registrations
would remain valid.]
This would be best for internet users.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Part
2. New Net/ICANN compromise?
Fact: NEW.NET's '.chat', '.club', '.family',
'.free', '.game', '.inc', '.kids', '.law', '.ltd', '.med', '.shop', '.soc', '.sport',
'.travel', '.video', '.xxx' TLD's are in alternate roots.
Proposal: ICANN should
put only the following NEW.NET's '.chat', '.club', '.family', '.free', '.game', '.kids',
'.shop', '.soc', '.sport', '.travel', '.video', '.xxx' TLD's into the USG's A-root
and recognize NEW.NET as the sole Registry for those TLD's. NEW.NET should recognize
Registry Pro as sole dot-med and dot-law registry and transfer all such records to
it. NEW.NET should recognize Neulevel as sole dot-inc and dot-ltd registry and transfer
all such records to it. [All registrants' domain registrations would remain valid.]
All other NEW.NET TLD's would remain only on the alternate roots and off the USG
root. [ICANN and NEW.NET could decide to make similar swap deals for these TLD's
in the future.]
This would be best for internet users. This would bring many new
TLD's to the USG root users ['the vast majority of internet users'] while avoiding
TLD-collisions.
Most of ICANN's choices for future TLD's already exist in alt.
roots. If all alt. root TLD's were brought onto USG root, then ICANN would lose ability
to create new TLD's.
The above suggestion is a good compromise.

Part
3. ICANN should recognize IOD.
ICANN should recognize IOD as sole .WEB registry.
IOD has proven ability.
