The ALL names at Landrush solution is so simple |

Nicholas, I've discussed the issue of the closed registrar lists with Afilias, and
there's no reason why that should be an insurmountable problem. It would be FAR better
for the landrush to go ahead AS SCHEDULED, and to let all applicants of generic domains
have their opportunity now, as scheduled. All it takes (in obviously simplistic terms)
is notification to each registrar of which names are "REJECTED but RESERVED". If
you delay until 120 days or 180 days or whenever (because different cases will roll
on for different lengths of times), you're just creating a 2nd landrush unless exactly
the applications now made with exactly those registrars are submitted, AND NO OTHERS
or ADDITIONAL ONES. Is that what Afilias propose? I'm not aware it is. The whole
issue is that the present Landrush applicants MUST have their right to have their
application for randomized selection go ahead, without that right being diminished
by added applicants or anyone else. The Landrush applicants have PLAYED BY THE RULES.
The rules must be upheld. That's why a number of us strongly argue for the simple
solution of all names being made available at Landrush, with no guarantee of winning
a name, if a legitimate Trademark holder claims it first. These were the rules all
along. They would be safeguarded by the Domebase/ricky/dreamweave solutions.
