Paul,
Generic words are being trademarked. How long before you can't speak a word,
or write a word before having to pay someone. Frankly I don't think Sex.info
should be allowed in the Sunrise. The Sunrise I thought that was supposed to
unfold was a "Modified Sunrise"...whereby generic tm's were off limits. Why
should someone have preferential rights to a word that is for public use. Unless
you get it in the Landrush which is a better format for these types of domains, I
think we will have problems..... Also the "internet challenge" is not sensationalizing
anything. They are trying to provide Afilias with a list. Afilias themselves
will be the "judge" or WIPO if someone sees a domain "they" want to challenge.
Let's be clear about what is happening here. What is going to happen the
next time a TLD rollout happens. Can you image the amount of Trademarks that
are going to be applied for, just so that you can "take it"....This is the wrong
path that we are going down... Just my .02
