Three-letter strings for use in an address space are not the intellectual property
of anybody. They're meaningful only inasmuch as they're adopted as part of
a particular naming system. Where the Internet is concerned, they don't exist
in the naming system until ICANN approves them, and the fact that some script kiddies
set up a server that pretended they existed makes no difference.
