Subject: Domebase proposal and sunrise unfairness

I agree with you on the basic unfairness of the "sunrise" system, but unfortunately that's not subject to change, since it's enshrined in the ICANN agreement with Afilias.  The Domebase proposal isn't aiming to fix everything that's unfair about .info, just the specific problem with fraudulent sunrise registrations, which might be "do-able" because it doesn't really change the substance of the stated rules, just provides a way for the intent of the rules to be observed more fairly.

If and when future new TLDs are added, we all need to be vigorous in opposing the use of such sunrise rules again; we'll need to be, to counter the likes of Amazon.com and Sun Microsystems, who are already agitating and threatening lawsuits because the .biz startup plan doesn't give them similar automatic rights to their trademarked names.
