for a class of clients/customers was so obvious? This is one of many questions
that ICANN must be forced to answer in a public forum.
I have yet to find a plausible
explanation or imagine ICANN's answer to this question - if ICANN is as it would
have us believe, a responsible organisation, operating in an ethical manner and worthy
of our trust.
If ICANN claims that it did not consider alternatives or think it
was necessary to consider alternatives to the regulations or operating principles
adopted for the Afilias .info rollout - then my argument for broader public participation
on the board of ICANN is supported.
ICANN currently behaves as though it is accountable
to no one - other than its member registrars - whose collective short term benefits
seem to cloud their vision for a sustainable Internet providing benefits we can all
share.
