Cost Benefit Analysis |

Prior to Sunrise ending, I did a cost benefit analysis
between registering fraudulently during Sunrise (the latter part) and pre-registering
(just when Sunrise was concluding): (1)Fraudulently would have got me a $30,000
name for about $150 (including 5 year registration) with about 50% chance of being
challenged and giving up the name. Therefore the return is 100 to 1. (2)Spending
$350 to pre-register to get one name (worth $25,000 since the $30,000 names are no
longer available) plus registration fees of $70 for two years plus $50 for 3 more
years (assume) equals $470. Zero chance of losing name. Therefore the return is
$25,000/$470 = 53:1. Thus going the legitimate
route is about half as lucrative (which is really pretty good!) but your conscience
is clear and you have no worries.
