Subject: New Registrar Fraud revelation? ... SUSPEND THE LANDRUSH

Message:

Just received this e-mail from an accredited registrar who is appalled by what has happened.

"I just wanted to compliment you guys on the fine job you are doing. As the
owner of an accredited registrar who rejected names that were
clearly not proper during the Sunrise period, I have been appalled at the
behavior of many other registrars. Of course, we are pushing Afilias to fix
this before landrush.

I only have a small bit of information I can offer for your site. It has
been brought to my attention that John Wb Lee, who you have listed as
having registered fake names through Wooho T&C, is actually a corporate
office of that registrar. So this appears to be yet another case a
registrar breaking the rules and not being dealt with by Afilias.

Best of luck to you."

I am posting this for investigation, not claiming (as yet) that is true : what seems undeniable is that John Wb Lee has registered to date at least 22 names which include: africa argentina bar brazil building columbia cool dhl finland game gmat jamaica northkorea pga pki russia singapore sweden swiss tea tobacco tokyo.

These names seem to share the same Trademark number in many cases: 213-81-27695

Could we please have clarification:

Is this ANOTHER case of registrar-level fraud

Or can Wooho or Afilias enlighten us to put this straight?

And are Afilias STILL going to allow appliactions from Wooho? If they do, what precisely does "accreditation" mean? And does that say anything about the way Afilias protects consumers?

Their own Director, Robert Connelly - decent man - has effectively walked out on the company with earliest implementable effect, and called this Sunrise an "Abomination"

He has asked for the HONEST Landrush applicants to be protected.

I repeat my calls to Afilias:

DELETE THE FALSE NAMES (starting with the ones named above, and you might as well add Govinda Leopold's hawaii, maui, and govinda.info)

Or better still:

ALSO STOP THE LANDRUSH until you can implement THE DOMEBASE SOLUTION.

It's a question of what's right. And all decent people from Mr Connelly to the honest registrar who sent me the message above are now saying it.

STOP THE LANDRUSH - SUSPEND IT - UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO DO BUSINESS PROPERLY AND HONORABLY with your customers.
