the "first runner up" in the next round of new TLDs. Image Online Design is the legitimate
"first runner up" with their .web TLD. They have been operational since 1996 and
were in line long before NextDNS was. Most importantly - IOD's .web is ready to go
now just like it was in L.A. during November of 2000.
I seem to remember that
the ICANN Board had some major problems with the .iii TLD. They determined that the
proposal was incomplete and therefore did not add .iii to the "basket" when the TLD
strings were selected. Image Online Design's .web registry was and still is the obvious
next "runner up" for the next gTLD!
After watching the complete mess that .info
and .biz has created with their "lottery system" (not to mention the legality of
the whole thing) --- I must insist that IOD's .web is workable, rational, and ready
to be implemented today without any problems! Image Online Design is the "next runner
up" for round 2 of the new TLD selection.
