Hi DomainBase. I think its not as bad to charge fully and then refund money for unsuccessful registrations as long as the registrar  makes it clear that is what they will be doing. It is worse to say you will not charge but 'secretley' put a hold on the amount because a Land Rusher might end up with all his credit limit used up (especially when utilizing multiple registrars) and then have his credit card decline when he actually wins the all important name only to then lose it.
