Kelly, I think you are right, .info will stink for a while, but what we have to ensure
is that the stink always sticks to the apparently unprincipled principals of ICANN
and Afilias - the likes of Lubsen and Lynn - and the hyenas amongst the registrars
who have behaved as though they have trained as used car salesmen and women.
The Afilias .info rollout events demonstrate that ICANN at present is being run
like an exclusive club for the benefit of its members, rather than for the good of
the general and Internet public.
While the current ICANN executive remains in authority
- we have no reason to hope their motivation - serving their own self interest -
will change.
Gauging by the .info rollout events (I think the Afilias selection
process should be investigated too) and the scant public communications from Afilias
- the current principals of ICANN and Afilias are not dealing with the facts or the
truth and are abusing the authority given to them by the US government and the trust
of the general and Internet communities.
