Kelly, I know that the word "Australia" is trademarked by the Australian Tourism
Corporation in so far that it has a registration for a design incorporating the word
or distinct rendering of the word.I will never agree that such a TM should give
the holder the right to register the word in circumstances such as a new extension
rollout.
I am grateful though that it has gone to an element of my national government,
who will do more with it than any one of the band of squatters we have seen destroy
the integrity of the Afilias .info registry with the assistance of ICANN and Afilias
- a curse on both their houses.
Without checking TMs - my guess for the other would
be "amor".
Good luck - though you need more than good luck when dealing with the
type of people we have found inhabiting some of the registrars, Afilias and ICANN.
