as the principals of the authority entrusted to oversee the management of matters
such as these seem to be too closely enmeshed in the business they are supposed to
regulate.ICANN's principals have been exposed by the events of the Afilias .info
rollout as men and women undeserving of the public's continued trust.
Elvis has
taken up my call for a record of the performances of the different registrars through
this sorry affair.
As Domebase has said on several occassions - we have been left
to swing in the breeze - so let's maintain our rage and continue to compile evidence
of the malpractice we have encountered and hope that someone like Richy or Robert
will find space on their sites for a consumer advisory or warning about those registrars
whose behaviour during the Afilias .info rollout indicates they chose short sighted
self interest over best business practice - customer interest.
I keep saying it
and won't stop - the registrars need more regulation - and that won't occur until
their buddies in ICANN go back to their car lots are are not permitted to influence
the policy and practices of the authority with responsibility for the management
of the Internet for the public good.
