As a supporter of the free roots (some call them the Alt roots) I have to say I will always support their effort to bring more choice to the internet, but, they have no value in the mainstream A root at present.  That aside, our main aim now should focus on the greed and ineptitude of the registrars and those that support and maintain them, ICANN, Afilias, Neulevel.
