There have been a couple of "rounds" of changes since you first registered...
First, they "clarified" their schedule to mean that the landrush *begins* on Sept.
12 instead of ending, meaning that that's the first date that registrars could send
their name requests to Afilias, but they had a week after that to complete it.
And then they changed the schedule in response to the terrorist attacks, moving the
final deadline to this Friday (midnight UTC, 8 PM EDT). It will be about a
week after that before anybody knows what names are approved.
