I have read the silicon.com piece from the 10th, and it does in fact contain some facts - but then it gives space to the spin-doctoring Roland LaPlante, and unless you are aware of the details of the filias .info fiasco, you might think that Bob Connelly was unreasonable to expect the Board to behave in a responsible manner when dealing with money and expectations of so many customers. Bob Connelly walked away from the abomination of the Afilias .info rollout and Afilias Board because of his inability to make the Board take responsibility for verification of the bona fides of Sunrise applications - and I assume his inability to make the Board take appropriate action in the light of the massive cybersquatting that resulted. The remainder of the Afilias quote on Bob Connelly's departure is pure Afilias psychobabble and highly refined hypocracy as we have come to expect from those who brought us the .info rollout fiasco - Afilias and ICANN.
