While I have little doubt that Afilias will take some action
for public relations purposes and challenge some irregular looking registrations
from the sunrise small fry, will Afilias also have what it takes to initiate action
against big business or insiders that also may have locked in some unusual looking
sunrise registrations? What criteria will they use to challenge/cancel? Will it be
the same criteria fairly applied to all? Have they given us any reason to think it
will? To promote credibility and impartiality, it is suggested that Afilias hire
an independent outside entity to review all sunrise registrations for compliance
with the sunrise rules. Any that don't pass muster get challenged and if cancelled
then offered to landrush applicants.
