I think this registration "date" issue is a one-time thing. In the future, during "live" registration, it will be no problem that the submission date equals the registration date, since both are the same.
The time-stamping system, intended for the long-haul of live registrations, may not work perfectly for land-rush (since the "receipt" and "process" dates differ), but it is a minor glitch (in my opinion) not worth fretting about.
