I tried in register.com registering the name that I had pre-registered with GoDaddy but never turned up... it told me everything was OK, but as of now (a half hour or so later) it still hasn't shown up in the WHOIS, and I haven't received any email confirmation.  I hope I get the money back on my credit card if the domain never manages to register...
