This is what I got from register.com in response to my query about when I'd be able
to access and modify the record for an .info name I registered with them: "We have
received your request. Afilias.com is handling a large amount of .info domain
names. They are updating our systems in batches. As soon as we receive
your information from Afilias you will be registered in our system. Please
note that no DNS changes can be made to .info domain names before October 7th." This
is the first I've heard of any Oct. 7 date for being able to modify the names; prior
publicity releases had always stated that this would be possible once the registrar
"unlocked" on Oct. 1.
