I registered a few domains when Afilias went live for the first time, they are still not showing up on the whois apart from one. That one was taken by someone else who had registered it 5 hours after I had!  I am not impressed with the registrar I used.  According to their disclaimer, which you will only find if you are prepared to dig for it, this registrar claims they don't give refunds.  Sounds to me they did not submit my domains but sat on their ass while counting my money.  For the record they are called  namebargain.com you may wish to avoid them.  I have registered these names with another registrar since but still nothing showing up on the whois.
