A strategic solution to this mess |

If Tiscover does not retract the registrations and uphold their reputation, I can
imaigine that many newspapers in the UK would be interested in such a blatent and
unstopped fraud on this scale. I may pursue selling the story to them. I rather like
the idea of profiting legitimately from cheats. If Tiscover does retract the registrations,
they may attempt to retrieve their $500,000 by making Plankenstein a scapegoat and
taking Afilias/ Speednames to court for accepting such a blatently unacceptable order
which contravenes their contractual obligations stating that the TM details must
be verified. Although LaPlante actually issued a statement saying that Afilias
could not have liased with all TM databases in the world hence the frauds slipping
through the net, this is a lame and inadequate excuse when a reistrar accepts thousands
of TM registrations dating back to the 1800s.
