Subject: did Afilias charge registrars to cueue preregistrations?

I have a memory of some registrars justifying their preregistration fees to Landrushers with statements that the registry charged them $2 to cueue preregistrations.

(I think the free preregistrations being offered became downpayment deals as the lottery drew near.  So much for some registrar's ethics.)

Does anyone have a copy of any such statements or remember seeing them?

Registrars were either lying or Afilias has made more money from the Landrush preregistrations they effectively voided when they registered the names applied for by the Sunrise cheats.
