If they are not checking trademarks, then what was point of Sunrise?Trademarks
always could challenge after the registration of domain - so nothing has changed.
The
point of Sunrise is:
It appears to me, to be a corrupt money making scheme - what
with the lack of data validation and funny business of registrar / registry taking
trademarked names etc.
But like I have been saying, for this and other reasons
below - Sunrise is bull* propaganda.
*****
cut n paste from WIPO.org.uk - long
time forum members have read several times before (sorry):
The authorities have
been using lies and propaganda; As example, ask them to deny this:
THOUSANDs of
new open TLDs will not solve any problem - even if every one has 'Sunrise Period'
It
will not solve 'consumer confusion', 'trademark conflict' or stop anybody 'passing
off'.
Also, as an example on Sunrise, thousands of trademarks using word 'Apple'
have no guarantee of being able to use name.
Apple computers will still protect
and make claim to every Apple.[anything] - even though they share word with 727 others
in the USA alone (plus all those in 200+ countries).
