Yes, ICANN should have created several more TLD's by now. The existence of
these many ccTLD's proves that the much-touted concern about the 'stability of the
Internet' is completely without merit. More to the point, though, is that while
ICANN should create more TLD's, the application of the one company with the technical
expertise and financial strength to operate the sure-to-be-wildly-popular .web TLD
was denied. I doubt anyone would argue against making sure any company has the
technical and financial resources to operate a TLD. All the more reason for
ICANN to approve IOD's .web! I challenge anybody to provide FACTS why ICANN
shouldn't approve IOD's .web. ICANN is already on record as praising Afilias.
If Afilias is worthy of praise, then IOD is worthy of sainthood. S. Hudgens
