Re-read my post. If IOD purchased web.com, then that would be a new.net type temporary way to get IOD's altroot TLD .web into the mainroot year[s] before ICANN officially puts it there. Think.  If IOD buys web.com, then altroot subdomain.web = mainroot subdomain.web.com just like altroot subdomain.newnetTLD = mainroot subdomain.newnetTLD.new.net [for example abc.shop = abc.shop.new.net].
Link:	New Net appends new.net to its altroot TLDs so they appear in mainroot.
