"1. There is zero guarantee that IOD's .web will be placed into the mainroot, regardless
of hints from some ICANN boardmembers." Sadly, there is no guarantee on anything.
You act as though ICANN passing IOD's .web over again is a foregone conclusion.
I respectfully disagree. "2. If IOD owned web.com or web.net, then mainroot viewers
could see .web sites by appending only four characters [a dot and a three-letter
word]." There is no real difference between me.web.com or me.webtld.com, or me.some-goody-nth-level-domain.com.
"5. My solution helps them make tons of money." Sounds like to me that the only
person who would make tons of money in this scheme is the person who owned web.com
and web.net. Finally, "Shelby Hudgens is the one who lacks understanding." What
is there to understand? Your idea is a losing proposition from every direction
in which it is examined. I am sorry that we obviously don't agree on this point.
If you are so keen on the idea, why don't you run out and buy web.com and web.net,
and bypass IOD altogether? After all, you stand to make tons of money! Shelby
Hudgens
